This 6 paneled storyboard shows the progression of the Aztec Empire.
It all started when the Aztecs arrived in Mesoamerica in about the 13th century. They originated as a nomadic tribe in northern Mexico.
By the 15th century, the Aztecs had control. In Tenochtitlan, they developed an intricate social, political, religious, and commercial organization which brought many of the region's city-states under their control.
In 1519, Hernan Cortes and his 600 soldiers arrived at the Aztec capital, Tenochtitlan. The Aztecs would soon be meeting these foreigners.
We should take over their empire...
When the Aztecs saw the Europeans, they recognized them as one of their gods, with red hair, light skin, and light eyes, (Quetzalcoatl) who was supposed to return the same time Hernan arrived. The Aztecs greeted them with gold, food, and women.
By November 8th, 1519 the Spaniards were respected enough that they forced the Aztecs to believe their religious beliefs, Christianity. This included harsh treatments such as enslaving or even killing them if they refused to fall to their knees and repent.
By August 13th, 1521 the Aztec Empire had officially fallen. Nothing but animals roamed their advanced land. THE END
