Storyboard Text

  • Home of the Cyclops
  • The Cave
  • The Cyclops
  • Here we stand, beholden for your help, or any gift you give- as custom is to honor strangers.
  • The next land Odysseus found were the Cyclops. Cyclopes live in their own mountain cave and were like no other.
  • Odysseus' Plan
  • Odysseus and his men come upon a cave on the island. They enter the cave and find a large amount of food, they soon realize that there was no owner in sight and gather as much food as possible.
  • The Plan in Action
  • Time goes on, Odysseus and his men soon find who the cave owner is. The owner is a very hungry cyclops. The cyclop eats two of Odysseus' men. Odysseus then asks where his gift is because he is a stranger on the island.
  • Revenge of the Cyclops
  • *laughing&shouting* It was not nohbody that did this, but I, Odysseus!
  • Odysseus contemplates what to do next and considers a plan to his men. Odysseus and his men decide to cut a large piece of wood and cuts away to make it sharp at one end. The plan is to give Polyphemus a lot of wine strong enough to get him to pass out. While he sleeps the men and Odysseus will stab the cyclops in its one eye with the sharp cut wood, resulting in the cyclops being blind.
  • The cyclops has asked for Odysseus name, Odysseus tells the cyclops that his name is in fact "Nohbody" which would soon help him in every way possible. Odysseus and his men went through with their plan, when the cyclops was screaming in pain his friends came to ask if he was okay when he replied with "nohbody has hurt me!" they thought he was okay. Odysseus then ties his men to the sheep bellies and gets out safe the next morning.
  •  We will be out by morning
  • Odysseus gets back to his ship and as he is leaving he lets the cyclops' know who he really is. What Odysseus doesn't know yet is that the cyclops is a son of the God of the sea who will soon make Odysseus and his men struggle to get home even more than what they had already been. Will they ever return home?
