Pearl Harbor was attacked on December 7, 1941 that set off a chain of events for the U.S involvement into World War II. Also, it heightened the racial tension with Japanese Americans in the U.S.
You need to go get all of them ¨Japs.¨ America was at war with Japan as was worried Jthe Japanese people living in American were sent over as spies although some were American citizens.
Japanese Americans were sent off to camps due to executive order ¨9066¨ this was put in to place in order to prevent inside attacks from Japanese Americans. They were forced to pack all their stuff into just two bags..often times not even enough room to pack many clothes.
Before being sent off, Japanese Americans sold their businesses and homes for a fraction of the cost. Often times losing most of their savings in the process.
Sent off to live on the west coast in ¨relocation camps¨, many Japanese Americans copped with this by creating schools, beauty/barber shops and a camp newspaper.
