Storyboard Text

  • Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Mayoral.
  • In my opinion, I believe Andrew Jackson does not deserve to be on the $20 bill.
  • Sources: History.com Ushistory.com american- historama.org
  • This term was used in his advantage because he had his own type of people vote for him because they felt like they could relate to him. It also proved why he should not be representing america because all he cared about was wining and votes.
  • The jacksonian demorcracy was when predient jackson had his people in office so no one would ever agrue against him.
  • The spoils system was based on political connections which was a way of appointing officials to the U.S government.
  • Andrew Jackson would use this in his advantage because he believed that having many supporters was more important for a job than merit. If he had his people in office no one would ever go against him. This says that he just cared about the population because he belivied that all that was needed which doesn't give a good represenation of the U.S.
  • The Indian removal act was an authorization for president andrew jackson to trade indian lands which were in the states border for unsettled land west of  mississippi.
  • In this act, Jackson is removing the Indians from there land which is not what a good president does.
  • This act worked to his advantage because he got more land for the United states which were in the states borders.
  • All rights not given to the United States government from the U.S constitution should be given to the separate states but Jackson wanted to preserve the the national government and not give much power to the states.
  • Andrew Jackson used this term to his advantage because the power was divided and the states got to have a say in the country's decisions but the national government still has power. This was one good thing he did because he still gave some of the states power but not a lot.
  • War on the National bank was when Andrew Jackson wanted to get rid of the second National bank and he belived that worked to his advantage because it got him more votes.
  • This means he shoudn't be on the $20 bill because he just went against the second national bank because he wanted to get more votes.
