  • Dating back to the 1400's the Spanish conquered and colonized the Caribbean, the American Southwest, and South America, for their own personal gain. 
  • Creoles seize control of Buenos Aires in 1810 and declare its independence
  • During the Enlightenment Simón Bolívar was interested in rationalist thinkers such as Jean-Jacques Rousseau, John Locke, Thomas Hobbes, Voltaire, and more philosophers ideas on the philosophy of life. 
  • Simón Bolívar was born on July 24th, 1783 in Caracas, Venezuela. He died on December 17th, 1830 in Columbia. 
  • Simón Bolívar was a Venezuelan military and political leader who helped many Spain controlled South American colonies revolt and gain independence.
