The raven continues to stare at the narrator. He sits back in his chair and lets his mind wander. He thinks about how Lenore will never sit in a chair next to him again.
The air starts to get thick and he starts to imagine that an angel is walking next to him. The narrator asks for a drink that will cure his sorrows. The raven responds with nevermore.
The narrator figures that the raven is either from Hell or sent by god.The narrator asks again for a balm that will cure his sorrows. The raven responds again with "Nevermore".
The narrator continues to plead for something that will cure his grief of Lenore. He asks the bird if he will see Lenore again in heaven. The Raven says "Nevermore".
The narrator is furious about the bird's answer. He tells the bird multiple times to leave. The narrator becomes hurt by the bird's response. The bird responds with "Nevermore".
The raven continues to sit on the statue. The lamp behind the bird casts a huge shadow on the floor.
