Kalina's Ethical Dilemma

Storyboard Text

  • Melany caught drinking and drivingBy: Kalina Tui
  • Thank you for understanding my concerns. You were not only affecting yourself by risking your life. You were also affecting my life and other drivers/their passengers lives by driving under the influence. We could've crashed into a moving vehicle and killed others and ourselves.
  • Melany I can smell the alcohol on your breath. You lied to me by promising me you wouldn't drink at the party and now , YOU'RE SWERVING THE CAR. The alcohol is affecting your coordination and vision. I don't feel safe at all right now.
  • I didn't tell you Susan for this exact reason. I know you would blow up on me. Everyone was just having such a good time and pressuring me to take shots so I may have took a few....
  • I have a right to be mad and you are under the influence, so you just need to listen clearly to me. Pull over on the side of the road up here and we will discuss what we are going to do.
  • You are making this such a big deal. but okay I get it you're scared. I will pull over.
  • I'm going to give you two options. You can either let me drive, since I did not drink. Another alternative is you can leave your car parked in this spot over night and we will call us an uber home.
  • Those sound like good ideas actually. We should figure out together what our best option is.
  • You're right it was a terrible and dangerous idea to drink and drive. So now we have the option of taking the safe route and calling the uber and then I would just come here tomorrow and pick up my car. We would have to find some spare change to pay for that. Another option would be for you Susan to drive my car home. Although, even though you are sober we could still get pulled over and the registration for this car is not under your name.We would both get in trouble in that case.
  • I think the best course of action is for me to call the uber right now. This way we are not taking any more risks. Oh and don't worry, I can drive you to your car tomorrow.
  • That sounds great, thank you for the offer Susan:)
