  • LEISURE TIME
  • Norwegians like being outdoors and often go for walks in the fields, forests and mountains. We also like calm leisure activities, like reading in front of the fireplace, doing needlework or playing board games with the family.
  • EDUCATION
  • The educational system in Norway is mostly free and everyone has access to it. Today, nearly every third person in Norway has a university degree. Students in Norwegian universities have a lot of extracurricular activities.
  • THE ARTS
  • Next to William Shakespeare, Henrik Ibsen is the most well-known playwright in the universe and one of the founders of modernism in theatre. Another global hit in the recent years is the Nordic crime literature, primarily expressed by author Jo Nesbo.
  • The Kingdom of Norway is a Nordic country in Northern Europe. It has a total area of 385,207 square km and a population of about 5 million. It has 400,000 lakes and 239,000 islands, known as fjords.
  • SPORTS
  • Norway is without doubt a winter sports nation, with skiing and cross-country being the most beloved sports. Despite that, football is the most popular sport. Extreme sports are, also,wide spread , like kiteboarding, rock climbing and rafting.
  • CUISINE
  • Norwegian food culture is based on seafood, but the most popular dish is thinly sliced brown cheese eaten with bread. Other famous dishes are cured or smoked salmon, whale steak and Fiskepudding.
