The Great Gatsby Chapter 8

Nick notices Gatsby has come home from Daisy's house and makes his way to Gatsby's house and sees him tired. Gatsby tells Nick nothing happened and that she turned on the light and looked outside then went back to sleep.
Nick attempts to tell Gatsby he should leave but Gatsby says he should wait to see if Lucy will be ok. Gatsby proceeds to talk about Daisy and his own history together. Mentioning how it was at war and how he was penniless coming back from the war.
Nick tries to call Gatsby but he does not answer. He attempts four times and still no answer. A central tells him that the wire was being kept open for long distance from Detroit.
Mr. Wilson and Catherine, Myrtle's sister, found out about Myrtle's affair. Catherine fainted and Mr. Wilson went to find out who had an affair with his wife.
Wilson find's Gatsby floating in his pool and shoots him, killing him instantly, then proceeds to shoot himself. He dies and so does Gatsby.
Nick comes to Gatsby's to see Mr. Wilson and Gatsby, dead. He wonders what Gatsby's last thoughts were at his final moments. Police tape is around the whole place. He assumes that he thought of daisy.
