  • British took new york
  • Washington's army flee across the Delaware
  • Regrouping with the other armies
  • When the british took York which was one of the Americans biggest towns it was a massive blow to their morale
  • Large amount of Hessians at Trenton and Crossing Delaware on Christmas Eve
  • Washington had to run away because if they didn't thay would have been cut down by the 20,000 british soilders following them 
  • Attack on Trenton
  • All of the armies met together to strengthen Washington's army so they could attack Trenton
  • Victory
  • Washington wanted to start to go on the attack instead of defending but then learned that there were about 1,200 hessians defending it , he crossed the Delaware on Christmas Eve so that the Hessians would be surprised and sleeping 
  • They attack later than washington wanted but they still attacked and the hessians were sleeping
  • They surrouned the hessians and they surrendered them
