Storyboard Text

  • Your amphoteric powers are so cool! Did you ever use them outside for a good cause?
  • Yes, I did use it for a good cause. Recently I've learned, that acid rain benefits wetlands and greenhouse gases. Acid rain can reduce methane outputs from wetlands. Methane is a greenhouse gas that is harmful to the environment and it brings global warming. Surprisingly I have never known that acid rain reduced methane emissions by 30-40 percent. So, I immediatly went to a wetland area where no people lived and used my amphoteric powers. I turned into water and reacted like a base which gives the product H3O+. This is an acid and it fell over the wetland as rain.
  • I have also used my powers to clean an aging factory equipment that was rusting. My amphoteric power allowed me to become other amphoteric substances as well. I had to get large amounts of baking soda which is NaHCO3 to clean a factory. I did a little research and found out that The Green River Basin alone houses a 200-billion ton nahcolite deposit which is enough to supply the entire world with baking soda for many hundreds of years.
  • Then, I mixed baking soda with water. In water, baking soda is mildly alkaline and can be used to neutralize acid. That’s why it works so well dissolved in water as a natural antacid remedy, or as a way to remove rust from old metal, or to remove tarnish from silverware. I cleaned the equipment in the factory and technicans made it work again. That factory is now home to many workers.
  • Well, thank you for helping everyone, Water Man!
  • No problem! Just glad to help.
