Storyboard Text

  • How can I get back at him?? He's hurt me a thousand times.
  • "I continued, as was my won't, to smile in his face, and he did not perceive that my smile, now was at the thought of his immolation."
  • I've heard he's the best wine taster around.
  • Let's go back to my home and taste the wine.
  • I cannot wait!
  • It is a hyperbole that Fortunato has injured Montresor thousands of times.
  • Follow me, the Amontillado is in the catacombs so it stays the right temperature.
  • Montresor is foreshadowing that he is going to do something to get revenge on Fortunato.
  • "I shall not die of a cough."
  • An example of dramatic irony is that Montresor knows none of his attendants will be home when the killing takes place, but Fortunato doesn't
  • "For the love of God, Montrsor!"
  • When Montresor takes Fortunato to the catacombs it is foreshadowing that he could possibly die.
  • It's ironic that Fortunato says a cold wont kill him but the niter and alcohol do not mix well with his cold and causes him to die faster.
  • Poe used imagery to help visualize the stone that built around Fortunato in the catacomb when he was getting ready to kill him.
