Storyboard Description

Mastery Learning The student learns a concept by mastering small steps The student shows mastery by getting 80% or more right The student moves on to the next step or level The student shows mastery as they pass tests at each level Students master concepts and skills before going onto other learning. If they do not reach mastery, then they go back and study and take the test again until they pass it. The mastery learning method divides subject matter into units that have predetermined objectives or unit expectations.

  • Guitar 101 Guitar Parts Notes Chords Reading Music Playing the Guitar
  • Eric wants to learn how to play the guitar. First he must learn steps and master skills before he can fully learn how to play the guitar.
  • Eric must first learn how to read music. Once he can successfully pass a test knowing music notes he then can move on to playing cords and songs.
  • Once Eric learns how to read music and play chords he then has learned how to play the guitar. Eric can keep learning new things now that he has mastered the smaller more basic steps.
