Storyboard Text

  • Okonkwo: The seven years I spent in exile were wasted, I could've been at the peak of Umuofian society if not for being exiled.
  • Okonkwo's Letter: Dear Obierika, I have sent you some money to rebuild two huts in Umuofia and I will help you build more when I go back over there in a year. Signed Okonkwo.
  • Okonkwo: We need to prepare a feast for my mother's kinsmen in Mbanta.
  • Around the time his family needs to return to Umuofia, Okonkwo tells his family to prepare for a feast.
  • Then to prepare for the feast, Okonkwo's wives and children pick vegetables, slaughtered goats and fowls, and prepared traditional dishes.
  •  During the feast, Uchendu was honored as the oldest clan member there, they broke kola nuts and prayed for health and children.
  • Okonkwo: Cheers to Uchendu!
  • After the eldest was honored...
  • One of the Oldest Clan Members: Thanks for the feast, Okonkwo. And I will hope for the best for the future of the clan and its young.
