Storyboard Text

  • Hi welcome to my ted talk. I'm here to talk to you today about opression.
  • I'm going to bring you back to a time when I had dealt with oppression.
  • Listen here! When I get a report I have to ACT on it! I ask the questions here.
  • Oh my god.. they have a bomb!
  • They should NOT be allowed to wear those head wraps in public! I am offended!
  • Should I be afraid? I don't understand.
  • A woman went far enough to say we were acting suspicious at the mall, so we got brought back to security
  • When my husband and I go out in public we get a lot of stares and rude comments
  • We were shopping for our child's birthday. We have done nothing wrong
  • We were brought back for questioning. Hounded for hours simply because of the way we looked.
  • I am here today to express to you to teach your children that different is okay.
  • I love myself and my culture. I respect you and yours, I should be respected too.
  • Being different is the new normal.
  • Our differences are what make us special!
  • I think it is important to teach kids from a young age that there is no "normal"
