I am Sitting Bull, the leader of the Sioux tribe.
Together, Crazy Horse and I tried our best to lead the Sioux, but the white men have forced our people into reservations like this.
Before the white men started forcing us to convert to their beliefs with their "Dawes Act", we lived peaceful lives following the buffalo. The white men refer to this as a "nomadic" lifestyle, but we certainly enjoy it.
To convince the white men to leave us in peace, the Sioux, my people began to perform the ghost dance, which is a ritual that would help us regain our former greatness.
When people in power heard about our dance, they thought that it was dangerous and tried to end it. The officers believed that I was responsible for starting the Ghost Dance, and I was arrested.
There was a gunshot which sparked a small scuffle right after I was taken into custody and I was caught in the crossfire. The mighty Sitting Bull was killed after the ghost dance.
