Storyboard Text

  • I am Sitting Bull, the leader of the Sioux tribe.
  • Together, Crazy Horse and I tried our best to lead the Sioux, but the white men have forced our people into reservations like this.
  •
  • Before the white men started forcing us to convert to their beliefs with their "Dawes Act", we lived peaceful lives following the buffalo. The white men refer to this as a  "nomadic" lifestyle, but we certainly enjoy it.
  • To convince the white men to leave us in peace, the Sioux, my people began to perform the ghost dance, which is a ritual that would help us regain our former greatness.
  • When people in power heard about our dance, they thought that it was dangerous and tried to end it. The officers believed that I was responsible for starting the Ghost Dance, and I was arrested.
  • There was a gunshot which sparked a small scuffle right after I was taken into custody and I was caught in the crossfire.  The mighty Sitting Bull was killed after the ghost dance.
