Storyboard Text

  • I have a nervous system, and so do you. All human beings have a nervous system!
  • The nervous system consists of the brain, the neurons, and the spine.
  • The brain is the main part of the nervous system, think of it like the boss, because the brain will receive and send messages to different body parts, and tell them what to do. The brain is protected by our skull
  • Neurons are cells that transmit messages to nerves, cells, muscles, and other neurons. Most neurons consist of the cell body, an axon, and dendrites. The cell body consists of the nucleus and cytoplasm. So basically neurons are like mailmen, they take messages and send them just like mailmen give letters to people.
  • The spine is the road for the nervous system all messages go through the spine and to the brain or from the brain. The spine consists of the cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar, Sacral, and the Coccygeal.
  • The nervous system controls what we think, what we say, and what we do. It is a very important part of our body and is just like an email or a mail
