  • Warning of the Flood Gn 6:5-22 By: Katalyna Padilla
  • The main idea in Gn 6: 5-22 is how God is preparing Noah for the flood. An important event is when God begins to realize how bad the humans were. The first thing that happens in this chapter is when God was thinking and planning how he was going to wipe out or take away certain creations. Next, Noah followed what God told him, which was to build the ark. God wanted the ark to be a certain length and width. Finally, after the ark was created Noah will then take the people or creatures God mentioned and take them with him. A life lesson we can learn from this passage is to follow what people ask or tell you to do. When people tell you what to do it's for your own good, not for theirs. Another lesson that stood out to me is don't do selfish things, because then it will have a negative effect on you in the future. This lesson means, do good and positive things because then it will make you a better person inside and outside.
  • "So the LORD said: I will wipe out from the earth the human beings I have created, and not only the human beings, but also the animals and the crawling things and the birds of the air, for I regret that I made them" (Gn 6:7).
  • "Make yourself an ark of gopherwood, equip the ark with various compartments, and cover it inside and out with pitch" (Gn 6:14).
  • "I will establish my covenant with you. You shall go into the ark, you and your sons, your wife and your sons' wives with you. Of all living creatures you shall bring two of every kind into the ark, one male and one female, to keep them alive along with you. Of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal, and of every kind of thing that crawls on the ground, two of each will come to you, that you may keep them alive" (Gn 6:18-20).
  • Stop sin before it gets out of control! After one sin happens or an action is made, this can progress to an even worse matter, if you don't stop.
