"Can my niece Eunice catch a ride with you to Colchester tonight?"
"She's ready now and will be waiting on the porch. I have to leave, so I’ll thank you now, on her behalf"
"I was just about to leave, can she be ready fairly soon?"
Mr. Taber sounds like he has a bad cold
"Eunice? I'm Mrs. Haley. Put your bag in the back seat and climb in the front with me."
"Non-sense, I love the company."
"Thank you, I thought it was a lot for my Uncle to ask."
Eunice and Mrs. Haley have been talking about Mrs. Tabor's death
"Mrs. Tabor never picked anyone up on this road, but that night she did. Mr. Tabor stayed in town to figure out who killed her. The same man killed that other girl. Only the killer got rid of her car. It hasn’t ever been found. But it was the same man.”
“You-you talk as if you know who the killer is!”
"Mrs. Haley... I'm not a woman. I'm John Tabor and Bob murdered my wife. I was watching eyes and his were glowing."
"It looks like an accident"
"I've got to stop, I know him, its Bob!"
"Drive on Mrs. Haley, Drive on. He killed my wife. He’s going to try to kill me – thinking I’m a woman. I think he’s going to be surprised"
The next day Mrs. Haley told her husband. He had went to town and came to say that Bob told his boss he was leaving and that Mr. Tabor was at his desk in the mill. The two of them vowed to never speak of the events that happened.
Mrs. Haley seen Mr. Tabor on the street and nodded towards each other... He moved to another town shortly after.
