In March 1933, the first concentration camps were opened for the Jews.
Women to the left, men to the right.
Men had their heads shaved and the Jews were put into old, unsanitary small rooms.
The prisoners in the camps suffered forced labor, starvation rations and the horrific daily lineups.
Many Jews died with the cause of starvation and disease, but gas chambers were also used to kill them.
11 million people were killed in the Holocaust, and 6 million of that number were Jewish people.
In 1945, the Soviets liberated Auschwitz and afterwards the US liberated many as well, putting an end to the camps and the tragic war.
Over 14 Million
