In 1757 Franklin went to England as a representative of the Pennsylvania Assembly, and he lived there for many years. In 1765, while the stamp act was going on, Franklin spoke before parliament in opposition to it. He wondered whether the colonies should be free
In 1785 he returned from France, and was elected to be a delegate for the Constitutional Convention. At nearly 80 years old, he was the oldest person at the convention.
Benjamin Franklin died on April 17, 1790. His will was used to establish a science museum and a trade school.
