Alex and Bella are boyfriend and girlfriend. They are both in Grade 10 at Stellenberg High School. It is their anniversary today and the are walking through a forest in search of a good spot to have their picnic date.
You know... We are actually lucky we found a forest that hasn't been affected by deforestation, they are very rare things to find nowadays.
Imagine how many animals lose their homes because their habitats are destroyed when the forests get cleared. I also read on the internet the other day that deforestation can turn a luscious green forested piece of land into a barren desert.
That is an excellent idea. I will put it forward at the next student council meeting.
I have a really good idea! Since you are part of the student council, maybe you should put an idea forward for a campaign or something that could help save trees and reduce deforestation
Tomorrow will you just text me all the solutions for deforestation that we mentioned today? Just so that I make sure I don't forget any. Can you think of any more solutions?
Just remind me to text you. I might forget.
Ummm... oh! We could try to reuse and recycle as many things as possible.
That is awful... and unacceptable. Surely, with today's technology, people would've come up with ways to reduce deforestation.
I agree completely! Something like tree farms, like the vineyards we see in the winelands. There can be rows and rows of trees that can be harvested instead of chopping down the really old ones in natural forests.
Good idea Bels. I think that people at home should also do things to save trees, paper and wood. Like planting trees in their gardens, or trying to print as little as possible or trying to go completely paperless.
