Romulus and Remus's father put them in a basket and left them near the Tiber River when they were babies because he feared Romulus and Remus might overthrow him and steal his throne. Soon after that, a she-wolf found Remus and Romulus and raised them as her own.

Soon after Romulus and Remus were found and cared for by the she-wolf, a shepherd finds them and raises them as his own. Romulus and Remus grew up strong and were natural leaders.
When Remus was taken by the king (his father), Romulus went to save Remus and they end up killing the king. When the king dies, Romulus and Remus are handed the crown and the empire. They decide they don't want to ruler their father's empire so, they venture off to find a place o begin their own empire.
Romulus and Remus find the perfect area for their new city, but they have a disagreement. They both want the city on a different hill.
Romulus and Remus get into a huge fight and Romulus kills Remus. Romulus continues building his city.
He founded his city on April 21 in 753 BC and made himself king. He names his city Rome after himself.
