The king has sent us to present you, Macbeth, the tittle of Thane of Cawdor. This is given to you in honour of your heroic combat. The old Thane of Cawdor is being prosecuted for this wrongful doings. The king sees great things in you worthy Thane.
Macbeth demands to know more but then the witches banish into thin air.
