We want less tax on bread and we want for King Louis and Marie Antoinette to move to Paris!!!
Declaration of the Rights of Man
YAY!!! We have rights now!
Thats great but we still don't have many, even though we lead the women's march.
Reign of Terror
Hi I'm Maximilian Robespierre, and I liked to use this handy dandy machine a lot!
Thousands of Parisian women rioted over raising bread taxes and they demand King Louis and Marie Antoinette move back to Paris.
Execution of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette
We shall keep our composure and we still wish the best for France.
The Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen said all men were free and equal. Their rights included liberty, property, security, and resistance of oppression. They also had the freedom of speech and religion. Although womens rights didn't get very affected.
Rise of Napoleon
I am Napoleon and I'm great a winning wars and capturing land for France.
"The Reign of Terror" is what is known as the period of time that Maximilian Robespierre was in power. He beheaded anyone who spoke or acted out against the French Revolution. He also killed people who questioned his power. About 40,000 people were executed during this time period.
Fall of Napoleon
I used to be really good at winning wars but I made some mistakes and kept on fighting and ended up ruining the French army. I guess now I'm being sent to some island.
In the end both King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were sent to the guillotine. Louis XVI was tried and found guilty of treason.
Napoleon became the savior of the the French Republic when he successfully defended the National Convention from royalists. He was appointed to lead the French army and eventually seized power, he crowned himself Emperor of France. He grew France's Empire and stretched it quite thin.
Napoleon's worst mistake was probably invading Russia, then waiting once he got his army to Moscow. He waited to long and decided to retreat in the winter when the Russian army was strong. The Russian army attacked and severely damaged Napoleons army. He continued to try to expand the French empire but his army was no longer as strong as it used to be. He was banished and came back and was banished again to the island of Saint Helena off of the coast of Africa.
