"you ruined it' Asher said in an irritated voice." In the book it displays Asher being mildly annoyed with Jonas whereas in the play he is angry and yells at Jonas and it shocks the people around them
"Why do you and I have to hold these memories?" In the book Jonas is in pain but calm while in the play it seems as if the giver is tormenting Jonas with it and Jonas is much more affected by it than in the book.
"But suddenly Jonas had noticed, following the path of the apple through the air with his eyes, that the piece of fruit had-well, this was the part he couldn't adequately understand-the apple had changed. Just for an instant. It had changed in mid-air,he remembered." In the book the color of the apple changed and could have almost been swapped with another apple for a second whilst the play makes it that the apple is flashed with a bright red light.
