Clare, Tom's wife, leaves to go to a movie without him. On her way out, Clare tells Tom he works too much and too hard, but he reassures her with telling her about all the money he'll make.
You work too much and too hard Tom.
Tom watched as his papers flew towards the window he had opened earlier. He looked out the window and saw his yellow sheet full of months of research on the ledge below.
Hopeful for the sheet to fly off the ledge so he could follow it on it's journey to the street, Tom waited by the window.
As Tom picked up his paper, he glanced down at the city below him. He began to panic as he visualized himself falling to his death.
Tom struggled to keep himself from trembling on the ledge. He brainstormed ideas about how he would be rescued or call for help, but did not come up with a successful plan.
After crumpling his paper into his pocket, Tom attempts to get through the window by smashing the casing on either side. The window got closed again after Tom caught himself falling.
