The Tale of Beowulf based on the epic poem
translated by Seamus Heaney
Set in 500AD in Denmark and Southern Sweden
Main Character: Beowulf (Geat Warrior and Prince)
The Danish King Hrothgar had a monstrous problem. The creature Grendel was terrorizing Heorot, the famed mead hall, and killed many of his brave thanes
Beowulf heard of Hrothgar's plight and sailed across the North Sea to reach Denmark and slay the monster, Grendel.
Beowulf faced Grendel in hand-to-hand combat, and with the strength of 30 men in each arm, dealt the death blow to the demon by tearing off it's arm.
The people feasted in honor of Beowulf's courage and victory against the monster
