Storyboard Text

  • Breakfast
  • The Chile Verde omelet was delicious!
  • Hearst Castle
  • The Neptune pool is 104' long, 58' wide, and holds 345,00 gallons of water.
  • Lunch
  • The world-famous Morro Rock is 576' tall!
  • My husband and I got up early to have breakfast at The Coffe Pot restaurant. The restaurant has been around for 65 years and is a favorite amongst the locals. With a tip, breakfast cost me $14.50.
  • After breakfast, we headed north to Sam Simeon. William Hurst began his Hearst Castle as a vacation spot for him and his family in 1919. By 1947, it had an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, private zoo, two guest houses, and 163 rooms. Tour cost: $25.00.
  • We headed back south on Hwy 1, which runs along the coast. The drive was beautiful. We stopped into Tognazzini's Too for lunch. They also have a fresh fish market where you can buy your own seafood. We ate outside on the dock and enjoyed a close-up view of Morro Rock. Cost: $17.00.
