Formative Assessment for the Common Core
Formative Assessment for the Common Core Project
Best quote ever! "Formative data is to blood work from an annual physical exam as summative data is to blood work from an autopsy. The first informs the patient in a way that can bring about changes in diet or lifestyle, while the second provides information after the fact, without the possibility of modification to diet or lifestyle" (Venables,p. 92).
