Storyboard Text

  • I don’t think I have ever used wire cutters before. How do you use them?
  • I used beads, wire, and wire cutters!
  • Wear safety googles or glasses because pieces of wire could fly
  • Well there are some things you have to remember.
  • Interesting! What else?
  • Oil pliers and wire cutters regularly. A drop of oil on the hinge will make the tools easier to use
  • Never rock the cutting tool from side to side or bend wire
  • Cut at right angles.
  • Grip firmly and comfortably
  • Make sure that the cutting edges are sharp. Dull and worn down cutting edges require many times more force needed for cutting
  • Wow, that’s a lot of stuff to remember!
  • Yeah, and they can actually be pretty dangerous if used incorrectly
  • Dangerous? Like how?
  • Well...Pieces of wire or other material can go flying
