  • -set goals for the athlete -help with self confidence -motivation -positive self image -help cope with stress, disappointment and injures

  • Motivation plays a big role for athletes. 
  • make sure the athlete has a direction they want to go and that they are setting little goals on the way.
  • two types of motivation include extrinsic(from the outside) and intrinsic (from within)

  • goal setting-identifying clearly defined, specific objects that are measurable 
  • can cause an athlete anxiety focus or fear.
