Storyboard Text

  • an informal fallacy of faulty generalization by reaching an inductive generalization based on insufficient evidence.
  • I've met a lion, and I must conclude that all lions are better than tigers
  • Hasty Generalization
  • It is an argument that suggests taking a minor action will lead to major and sometimes ludicrous consequences.
  • Slipper Slope
  • Lions are better than tigers because tigers are mean so if you like tigers then you're mean and if you're mean then you'll have no friends.
  • an irrelevant topic introduced in an argument to divert the attention of listeners or readers from the original issue.
  • Red Herring
  • Lions are better than tigers because one time a tiger killed my cat.
  • The post hoc fallacy is committed when it is assumed that because one thing occurred after another, it must have occurred as a result of it.
  • Lions are better than tigers because one time I came across a tiger and then I got sick for 3 days straight.
  • Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc
  •  When a statements conclusion is among its premises. It assumes what it is trying to prove.
  • Lions are better than tigers, because tigers aren't as good as lions.
  • Circular Argument
  •  It involves a conclusion that is based solely on someone's or something's history, origin, or source rather than its current meaning or context.
  • Genetic Fallacy
  • Lions are better than tigers because tigers start out as inept cubs, so they must mature to be inept adults too.
