The speaker of the Prologue begins, "Two households, both alike in dignity..."
The speaker continues. The curtain opens and we see the two families at opposite ends of the stage. A screen in the back shows we are somewhere in Italy.
The families leave the stage and Romeo and Juliet take their places. The screen changes to a picture of a balcony, making it clear these are the two lovers.
They leave the stage and the screen changes to an image of bloodied knife, foreshadowing a death. At this point the speaker is to the, "do with their death bury their parents' strife."
The image remains as the speaker returns to the stage to finish the prologue.
