I can help you study for the test in the science classroom.
I don't know what to study for my science test.
Dimitri Mendeleer created the Periodic Table. The table is arranged by weigh groups, periods, and families.
So who created the periodic table and why is arranged the way it is?
Periods are rows that tell the # of shells and groups are vertical columns that tell the #of valence electrons. These valence electrons can determine the element's chemical properties like reactivity. The less # of valence electrons the more unstable.
Then what are periods and groups?
6 C Carbon 12.011
All very true. Elements are also classified by metals, nonmetals, metalloids. Metals are shiny and good conductors of heat and electricity where as nonmetals aren't.
They determine the element's identity. Each element has a designated spot. It has the element's name, symbol, atomic #, and atomic mass.
Then what do protons determine?
Yes, lastly there are 5 more group properties. These include Alkali metals, Alkaline earth, metals, transition metals, Halogens, and Noble gases.
The further left the less reactive the elements are. Except the closer the element is to Fr & F the more reactive the elements are.
