Walter feels as if nobody cares about his dream or understands him. He wants to be the man figure of the house. However, instead, his wife and mother take on that role. Everyone in the house don't believe in Walter and his dream. They say that he has too high of expectations.
Beneatha feels as if she doesn't know what to do with her future. Since she is the only person that got the chance into college she has a lot of responisbility. Beneatha does not know what her real identity is and how to express herself.
Ruth and Walter do not have a compatible relationship. That is mostly because, Walter acts like a child. Ruth treats Walter like a child. So, Ruth has to always tell Walter the desicions he has to make.
