The night before Hecuba was expecting her 52nd child, she had a dream. Her dream was about her baby boy destroying Troy. In her mind she could picture her child being a torch, and of Troy burning down.
Hecuba went to a temple and asks about her dream. One of the priests tells her that the dream was a message from the Gods, that the baby will carry much danger and that he is the destruction of Troy.
I am going to call you Paris!
Soon, Hecuba gives birth to a baby boy. Priam calls over the slave and hands the baby over to him. He tells the slave to kill the baby boy with a sword.
The slave carries the baby to a mountain nearby. But instead of killing him, he abandons him. but soon, a bear comes along and finds the baby. He doesn't hurt the boy, he loves, cares and looks after him.
The slave returned to the mountain to look for the baby boy. He finds him and decides to take care of him himself. He shouts "The boy is alive! He is a gift from the gods!". He brings the baby back home in his backpack and therefore decides to call him Paris.
