  • Missouri (Missouri Compromise)
  • Fugitive Slave Law (Compromise of 1850)
  • The south wanted slavery and the north wanted to stop this because it was splitting the country. Also the south felt as if they should have the right to decide if they wanted to secede or not. South is left North is right.
  • Two votes
  • Poeple Voting in Kansas
  • South
  • North
  • The North wanted extra money so they placed high tariffs on goods. This angered the south because they were paying money just for the north. South Carolina threatened to secede if they were forced to pay taxes. The north stopped the high tariffs.
  • Seceding and Confederacy
  • Our state is having large conflicts on if we should secede or not I believe it is illegal. 2 YEARS LATER...... I have become the vice president of the confederacy
  • The North and South both got things in each compromise. Each side wanted equal representation in senate. In the picture the north has all the buildings and the south has just a bunch of land and this symbolizes how each side was. Georgia actually helped pass the Fugitive Slave Law and it was because the north had more states with California so the south needed something in return and that's what they got.
  • Dred Scott
  • I should have been free from my master. He died in a free state. I declared my freedom and took it to court. They said I had no rights because i was considered a slave.
  • The government insisted that the new states would vote is they wanted to become free or slave. Many voting frauds happened and it was very hectic. Also president Lincoln was elected. This made the south very mad because the gov. had control.
  • I won the election hahahahaha hahahahahahaha hahaah
  • Alexander Stephens was part of the confederacy although he didn't believe in seceding. 2 years later though he became vice president of the confederacy because of his business intelligence.
  • Dred Scott was a slave who's master died in a free state. This brought up a controversial topic on if the Dred Scott is free are not. In the end after many trials the court ruled against him meaning he was still a slave, but another family bought Dred and his family and gave them freedom.
