Rainsford is leaning over the railings of the boat trying to get a better listen to sounds of the islands and falls off the boat, having to swim to land.
The hunt begins.
When Rainsford finds the land he starts looking around and finds a giant house. When he goes up to it and knocks on the door a tall scary man stands before him with a loaded gun pointing at Rainsford heart.

Rainsford is then greeted by General Zaroff. during their dinner, Zaroff tells Rainsford about his hunting career and how he hunts weak men, for he is stronger and should be able to use his strengths.
Most comfortable bed ever.
Rainsford sets off into the jungle going in all different paths making it harder to find him. as the days go on he becomes more tired and scared for what lies ahead. Rainsford made different types of traps hoping it would slow down Zaroff. On day three Zaroof thinks Rainsford is dead.
Zaroff goes back home thinking that Rainsford dead but to his surprise when he gets back home he realizes a man standing in his room. It is Rainsford, Zaroff is in disbelief. So he makes a deal with Rainsford.
Rainsford and Zaroff fight for the right of sleeping in the bed, Rainsford takes his chance and wins, leaving Zaroff to sleep with the hounds.
