Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Just leave me alone!
  • Rising Action
  • Oh! It was just a nightmare.
  • Rising Action
  • Why do I keep having this dream?
  • It is a foggy and ominous night in the forest. Maya is being chased but she doesn't know what by. She is running from something she can't see as the dark tries to swallow her whole. Maya trips over a fallen tree branch and falls to the ground. She screams into the darkness, to no one in particular to leave her alone.
  • Climax
  • Why are you running from who you are? Why are you trying to forget?
  • After waking up from the nightmare, Maya gets out of bed and goes to splash her face with water. The water wasn't calming her down, so she decided to go outside to get some fresh air. This was becoming a common occurrence where she is awoken by a nightmare of someone or something chasing her.
  • Falling Action
  • I have to figure out how to stop seeing this girl who looks just like me because this isn't normal. I might have to confront the past in order to move forward.
  • Maya tries to recall the dream only to think about her past and all the things that she has been running from and trying years to forget. Then all of a sudden she sees someone who looks just like her younger self standing among the trees across from her house.
  • Resolution
  • I am finally done with my autobiography. I feel like myself again after years of letting my past control me.
  • There was no one there except for the little girl who resembled Maya when she was younger. She looked sad and scared. The girl says something that Maya couldn't hear, the girls voice just floated into the breeze. Maya got ready to get up and approach the little girl when she ran off and disappeared. Overtime, Maya continues to see this girl everywhere she went.
  • Maya finally decided that she had enough and wanted to confront the reason why she kept seeing her younger self everywhere she turned. She realized that inside she is still that scared little girl that she was when she was younger and that she was losing her true self by running from her past.
  • To confront her past Maya decided to write an autobiography that goes into what happened during her childhood. She wrote about how her childhood was not full of happy memories and how she was finally moving on from that time of her life. She is truly happy with her life and feels like she can finally breathe without the negative memories looming over her head.
