  • Plan/ Design: The performer must plan an appropriate monologue that goes with the theory of their chosen theorist, but also a monologue that properly addresses the performer's intentions. If the performer has chosen Artaud as the theorist and the intention is to show how lighting can add to the absurdist elements of the performance, then the performer would have to design and plan out lighting cues that support this intention (i.e., bright harsh light whenever a quick tense movement is made)
  • Techniques/Create: To create the performance piece that best suits your theory, it is often good to make sure that your monologue (including original creations) has the space to apply the techniques you plan to use. Using Artaud as an example again,
