  • Gatsby vs Society
  • He was my son and he would have done good for this world.
  • He lived a good life if only more of the people that were in his life decided to show up.
  • What's going on?
  • Daisy vs Tom
  • He has a mistress, didn't everyone know.
  • Gatsby vs himself
  • I thought that I had finally won and got my golden girl but she will never be mine .
  • Gatsby believed himself to be an amazing person that deserved the world to be handed to him because he wanted the wealth and fame. He threw parties every weekend, but he was always off to the side because he had problems making friends. This is shown at Gatsby's funeral when no one shows up except Nick and his father.
  • Though out the novel it is made clear that Tom has been having an affair with another woman. At one point his mistress calls in the middle of the evening while they are having dinner.
  • Through out the novel Gatsby is trying to get to Daisy and is never truly thinking about what he wants. When the end of the story come he realizes that he never really used his pool because he had it only for Daisy. He goes to the pool completely defeated and lets himself die.
