Jack Visits Algy and reveals his secret counter part, Earnest. Algy reveals that he has a fake friend, Mr.Bunbury, in which he uses to get out of family obligations with his Aunt Augusta. "I have bunburyed all over shropshire" (14) situational
With the help of Algy, Jack Proposes to Gwendolyn. However, Lady Bracknell refuses to give Jack consent because of his strange origins. "Jack?... No, there is very little music at all in the name Jack" (23) Dramatic
Setting: Manor House
Algy arrives to Jack's Manor pretending to be his brother, Earnest. Cecily tells Earnest that they've been engaged and that she's always dreamed of marrying an Earnest. "I see from your care, are Uncle Jacks brother" (46) Dramatic
Gwendolyn surprises Jack at his manor and she meets Cecily. The two girls both claim to be engaged to the same Ernest. In the midst of all this confusion, Jack and Earnest must confess. "Are you called algernon? / I cannot deny it." (77) situational
Jack and Algy schedule a Christening to have their christian names be Ernest. When Lady Bracknell arrives she recognizes Ms.Prism as the person who lost jack as an infant. "Everything is quite ready for the christenings" (98) situational
Jack finds out that he is the son of Lady Bracknell's sister. Algy and Jack are actually brothers. Jack then finds out that his real names was Ernest all along. "I always told you, Gwendolen, my name was Ernest" (105) Situational
