The women of Sparta had more rights than the Athenian. The Spartan women had the right to physical education. The Athenian women had to stay home and care for the house.
Both Sparta and Athens did not allow women into government. The women of Sparta either stayed home to care for the household duties, or go to battle school. The women of Athens always stayed home, cleaning, caring for the house, taking care of children, and mastering full responsibility of the home.
The boys of Sparta had to be sent to practice for battle at the age range of 6-7. They returned home in their 60's. The boys of Athens focused mainly on the education of arts. They were home-schooled by their mothers until the age of six.
