  • Sinking of the USS Maine - February 15, 1898
  • How dare Spain blow up the USS Maine! We must declare war on them now
  • Spanish American War -April 21, 1898 – August 13, 1898
  • We won the war, now we are a great world power!
  • We should help Britain and France in their war against Germany now, since we are so powerful.

  • The Americans are too powerful and we need them to stop sending arms to Britain and France.
  • Lets send Mexico a secret message to declare war on them
  • The US ship “Maine” was blown up while at anchor in Havana harbor. In the explosion 260 officers and men on board the the ship were killed. As a result of the explosions it Spanish American war erupted.
  • World War I -July 28, 1914 – November 11, 1918
  • The Zimmerman Note was very sketchy, we should do something about Germany.
  • The Treaty of Versailles started this war because Germany was mad but now they have surrendered
  • As a result of the war the United States gained Guam, and Puerto Rico, as well as control over the Philippines. The Treaty of Paris ended the war and left America victorious and a world power
  • World War II - Sep 1, 1939 – Sep 2, 1945
  • In order to for the US to win this war Japan must surrender, we must scare them into doing so
  • The Zimmermann Telegram was part of an effort carried out by the Germans to stop the transport of supplies and other war materials from the US to the Allied Powers that were at war with Germany. The purpose of the telegram was to make Mexico declare war on the US in hopes of tying down American forces and slowing the export of American arms.
  • Bombing of Hiroshima -August 6, 1945
  • The Zimmerman Note forced United States President Woodrow Wilson to reverse his initial position on American involvement in the European conflict and commit the United States to the war against Germany, WWI. The Treaty of Versailles ended WWI and placed most of the blame on Germany, leading to the beginning of WWII.
  • We should no longer be uninvolved in conflict, we must go to war with Germany for trying to take us down with Mexican alliances
  • The Treaty of Versailles is seen as a direct cause for WWII. Most of the world’s countries, including all of the great powers, fought as part of two military alliances; the Allies and the Axis. In effort to end this war the US warned Japan to surrender or else there would be grave consequences, Japan refused to surrender even after Germany had.
  • The Japanese were warned to surrender or they would suffer grave consequences. The first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. As a result 100,000 people died within seconds and thousands within the time after.END of WWII
