One of us is going to die.. But until then lets celebrate!!!!!
SELECTION HAS BEGUN!!!
The story begins with the village meeting in the square between the post office and the bank for the lottery. The kids began to collect pockets full of stones. In the end we found out that they were collecting stones for their tradition, which is when someone's name is chosen, they are to be perished by stones.
Give me the paper Tessie!!
The conflict in the story is the tradition itself because in order for the ritual to finish, someone’s name has to be chosen and they have to be stoned to death. That is the only problem in the story because of course no one wants to be chosen.
The village begins selecting their papers out of the box to reveal if they have been chosen to die in the ritual.
LETS GET HER!!!!!!
Bill Hutchinson forces his wife, Tessie Hutchinson, to give the paper to him to reveal that she is the chosen one.
Tessie is forced to stand in the center and is then stoned to death by the village.
