Every King Has A Navi
Shaul and Shmuel David and Natan Shlomo and Gad and Achiya Yiravum and Eliyahu Chizkiyahu and Yishayahu
The king needs someone to help keep him level headed and not let his Kavod go to his head. He is there to help the King do teshuva and learn from the things that happen.
Where do we see this?
We see this in Divrei Hayamim, when the navi is referred to as the Roeh of Melech Asa.
What else does the navi do?
The Navi will be the one to reprimand the king in ways of thinking and believing in Hashem. He does this in a respectful way to the king. The Navi is sent from Hashem to the King.
