  • I'm sorry but there's been a terrible accident. Herbert is dead. Our company will give you 200 pounds in compensation.
  • It is late and raining, there is a unknown man knocking on Mr. and Mrs. White's door. The camera angle is a far away shot on the house and the rainy weather. This creates foreshadow because something bad usually happens when it is raining. The music is suspenseful and leading up to a sad event.
  • Get the paw and wish my son alive again.
  •  The White family is told that their son is dead and they are receiving 200 pounds for his death,  the same amount they wished for. The camera angle is a high shot and a close up on them crying. Sad and despairing music is playing in background.
  • Mr. and Mrs. White are heartbroken over the death of their only son and would do anything to get him back. The camera angle is a closeup of their faces as they cry. The sad music continues into this scene.
  • It is late at night and Mr. White is awakened by the sound of Mrs. White crying. Mr. White has learned that he needs no more from "The Paw" but Mrs. White has not learned this yet and forces her husband to wish Herbert alive again. The camera angle is a close up on Mrs. White while she speaks then pans to Mr. White leaving the room.
  • Mr. White goes to get "The Paw" and wishes Herbert alive on his wife's commands. The camera angle follows Mr. White as he goes to find the paw and close-upson him when he wishes, then the screen goes black. Creepy music plays until screen turns black, then it stops.
  • Mr. White wakes up after hearing a persistent knock on the door, the candle next to him turns green creating foreshadowing. The camera angle is straight on the room and when the candle turns green, the camera close-ups on it. Eerie music plays and then stops when knocking sounds.
