  • There was an old man sitting in his chair reading. He was almost asleep. It was midnight in the month of December. 
  • Climax
  • Nevermore
  • The old man is depressed because he misses his wife Lenore. He is alone.
  • Falling Action
  • The man is sitting there an then he hears someone tapping at his chamber door.  when he opened the door, there was only darkness. Later he hears the tapping at his window and then a bird flew and sits upon a bust of Pallas. 
  • Resolution
  • The old man asks the raven questions but its only response is, "nevermore". the man decides to ask one more question. He asks if he will ever see Lenore again, and the raven's response is once again, "nevermore".  The man is now very angry at the Raven. 
  • The man wants the raven to leave but it will not. The old man begins to realize that he will never see Lenore. He stops trying to make the raven leave .
  • The man is still lonely. He is still depressed and has an everlasting thought about Lenore, which e will never see again.
