Storyboard Text

  • I'm Harriet Beecher Stowe, the author of "Uncle Tom's Cabin," I'm known to have "helped lay the groundwork for the Civil War."
  • My novel was known to have helped start the Civil War. It is fictional and supports anti-slavery.
  •
  • My novel helped Christians, mothers, and free states empathize with the slaves.
  •
  • We can not lose our entire institution! We must work harder to keep slavery!
  • North
  • We need to end slavery! It's wrong and absolutely injustice!
  • South
  • Uncle Tom's Cabin had a negative effect for the South because they didn't support anti-slavery, they depended on slaves for their institution.
  • Uncle Tom's Cabin had a neutral effect on North. They were a little upset that they hadn't done anything about it sooner. But, it wasn't a negative thing because their institution didn't depend on slavery.
  • My popular novel that supported anti-slavery, Uncle Tom's Cabin, helped cause the Civil War because it started a huge argument between North and South over slavery.
  • She's the little lady who made this great war!
